The Newborn Studio

I love my newborns! My goal for your newborn photography session is to have all your newborn
needs taken care of. I have a full service studio designed especially for newborns.
I provide all the swaddles, wraps, blankets, bump blankets, posing baskets, etc you could need.
If you have a special item you would like to include of course that is welcome.

I take the handling of newborns very seriously. In addition to being a mama of three myself,
I am also a licensed Registered Nurse with 12 years of Pediatric and Newborn Nursery experience
so you can be assured your baby is in experienced, educated, safe hands.

Newborn portraits are best held between 5-14 days to achieve all those sleepy, swaddled, snoozy poses.
Since babies arrive when they are ready, how do we schedule a session in advance?
Pre-booking guarantees a spot in my calendar based on your due date
and the session schedule is finalized when your little one arrives.

Most of my newborns are scheduled well in advance in order to guarantee availability,
however I do occasionally have last minute openings so please do not hesitate to ask!
After booking I will also send over more detailed tips and tricks
to prep you and baby for an amazing session.

What should I look for when booking a newborn photographer?

SAFETY should always be the number one priority when choosing a photographer for your session. ASK QUESTIONS! Education in newborn handling and safe posing are crucial when deciding which photographer to trust with your sweet babe! Working as a nurse in the hospital pediatric and nursery units for over 10 years - you can be sure your babies are in experienced hands!

Can other family members be included in the session?

Absolutely! Newborn sessions can vary in length, with more time recommended for different family needs and sizes.

What age is best for newborn photography sessions?

Newborn portraits have an "ideal window" of between 5-14 days old to capture those sleepy, swaddled poses. While of course babies of all ages are welcome at HKP, as a general rule the older a baby is the more alert they will be.

We had a great experience with our newborn session! Of course my baby decided the first day she’d like to stay awake during the day was picture day…. Luckily Hannah is a licensed pediatric nurse and was patient with her and got her to sleep. We love how the pictures turned out and already have our next session booked!
